Doc Scanner ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

The Short Version

Everything Doc Scanner does — scanning, cropping, text recognition — happens on your device. Your documents are stored only on your phone. We collect nothing.

Information We Collect

None. Doc Scanner does not collect, store on servers, or transmit any personal information:

• Documents you scan: Page images are processed and stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere.
• Text recognition (OCR): Performed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Recognized text is stored in a local database on your phone so you can search your documents.
• Sharing: When you share a PDF, it goes only to the app you choose via Android's standard share feature.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Your documents, scans, or recognized text
• Location data
• Device identifiers
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Cookies or similar tracking technologies

Camera Permission

Doc Scanner uses the camera solely to capture document pages. Capture and edge detection are handled by Google's on-device document scanning technology (part of Google Play services). Images are delivered directly to the app on your device and are not uploaded by us.

Google Play Services

Document scanning and text recognition use ML Kit, Google's on-device machine learning technology, delivered through Google Play services. Processing happens on your device. Google Play services may download the required ML models; this is managed by Android, not by this app. See Google's privacy policy for how Google Play services handles data.

Data Storage

All app data (scanned pages, recognized text, document titles) is stored locally on your device. Deleting a document in the app permanently removes its files, and uninstalling the app removes all data.

Third-Party Services

This app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

Our app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
